Fore! Bank of America introduces “Golf with Us”
Posted April 22, 2025, 3:00 pm by
While the much-anticipated Masters Tournament has ended, it gave us one of the more exciting finishes in recent memory. My 15-year-old was glued to the television with me and his grandparents as we cheered, groaned, and finally — FINALLY — celebrated along with everyone else rooting for Rory McElroy to earn golf’s highest accomplishment: a career Grand Slam.
The timing couldn't have been better, as Bank of America has just introduced a new program, Golf with Us, designed to introduce younger generations to a sport with origins dating back to 15th-century Scotland.
Kids between the ages of 8 and 18 can enroll until May 24, 2025, for a one-year free membership to Youth on Course. It will cost $5 or less for kids to play a round on one of thousands of participating golf courses in the U.S. and Canada.
Bank of America’s Golf with Us initiative will also offer participants the opportunity to sign up for free clinics led by professional golfers, athletes, and well-known figures who also love golf. The United States Golf Association’s Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN) will also give everyone a registered handicap index and offer ongoing development and learning opportunities.
Earlier this year, Bank of America and Youth on Course partnered to expand access to golf for younger players who may struggle to find an affordable course to play. The goal of this venture? Adding more municipal courses to its network of over 2,000 courses.
On par for greatness
Youth on Course is a non-profit organization with a mission to increase golf’s accessibility and affordability for young people. The organization subsidizes green fees and has partnered with golf courses in North America and Australia to expand its network of courses. Youth on Course believes that golf can provide valuable life skills and opportunities, like developing personal goals, socializing with others, and learning new skills.
Its programs include:
- DRIVE Club, which encourages members to introduce their peers to golf through guided first rounds, emphasizing a “green-to-tee” approach that allows new players to experience the game’s social and skill-building aspects. To support this initiative, Youth on Course has established Community Hubs in major cities, offering free equipment, mentorship, and peer support to young golfers.
- Careers on Course, a paid, six-week summer internship at Pebble Beach Company in California, in collaboration with Stevenson School, which gives eight interns hands-on experience in the golf industry. It focuses on developing customer service and communication skills, plus networking opportunities.
- The Leadership Council invites students in 8th through 11th grade to apply for this one-year term, renewable for up to four years. Members collaborate to enhance Youth on Course’s national impact by participating in monthly virtual meetings and a council committee. They’re encouraged to contribute actively, share perspectives on relevant issues, and help shape the organization’s initiatives.
- College Scholarships help Youth on Course members achieve their educational goals beyond the golf course. Since 2008, the organization has awarded millions of dollars to graduating seniors, of whom 40% are first-generation college students.
- A robust alumni network for young adults ages 19+, with chances to connect, access deals, and network within the golf community.
Un-fore-gettable
Bank of America promoted Golf with Us at the Masters Tournament, where it serves as a Champion Partner. Since 2019, the company has also hosted annual youth golf clinics in Augusta, GA, as part of its involvement with the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
In 2025, Bank of America became the presenting partner of the More Than Golf invitational for female amateur golfers, in collaboration with the ANNIKA Foundation, established by Annika Sorenstam. This world-leading financial institution has also maintained a partnership with the Latin America Amateur Championship and the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championships since 2002.
