November 4, 2020. TeenLife Media and the Gap Year Association are pleased to announce a two-year partnership agreement which began on October 1, 2020! Our joint mission in this effort is to increase the visibility of gap year opportunities among families with high school students, as well as the college counselors and independent consultants who work with them.

TeenLife has been a recognized resource in the high school space since 2008 and is known for building greater awareness of all sorts of meaningful experiential learning opportunities for students before they enter college. The GYA is likewise excited to connect with students earlier in their academic pathway, to connect youth with resources on building their own unique gap year.

    The partnership has several components:

    • Every program that is a member of the Gap Year Association is listed on the GYA website AND TeenLife.com. TeenLife has added a widget to every GYA listing which links to the program's listing on TeenLife.com.
    • TeenLife and the GYA will support each other on a variety of virtual events for parents, students, counselors and advisors throughout the year and share news in each other's newsletters.

    About the Gap Year Association

Founded in 2012, the Gap Year Association is the only national nonprofit working to coordinate the growing "Gap Year Movement." As a public benefit, not-for-profit Association with members, we believe that all intentional gap years have significant and positive practical outcomes, whether independent or as part of a formal program. The GYA focuses on four core areas: Research, Equity & Access, Resources, and Standards and Accreditation.
