Hoping to be the next I.M. Pei or Frank Lloyd Wright? Want to be the next woman whose building surpasses Chicago’s Aqua Tower, the tallest skyscraper designed by a woman (Jeanne Gang)? Architecture summer programs offer the perfect platform to learn about building design and construction. Imagine transforming from an observer to a creator, pushing the boundaries of your imagination through hands-on projects.
You’ll get to play with CAD (computer-aided design) programs like AutoCAD and Rhino 3D, which allow architects to create detailed technical drawings and plans, including layouts, cross-sections, and elevations. And you’ll get a chance to draft your own plans, too.
If you’re interested in an intro to architecture, there’s no better chance than a summer program here in the U.S. or even abroad. Imagine studying some of London’s oldest structures, like the Tower or Buckingham Palace. If travel isn’t possible, check out a pre-college online summer program where you might take an architecture studio course and even earn a few university credits along the way.
