    Summer programs in Chicago for middle and high school students include pre-college and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) academics as well as sports, and performing and visual arts. Students can study the ecology of Lake Michigan; build robotics; do community service; polish basic skills like reading, writing and algebra; and even learn to cook. There are traditional camp-style programs as well as pre-college academics on Chicago-area campuses.
