    Overview

The Bard College Conservatory of Music offers a five-year program in which students pursue a B.Music and a B.A. in another field. The innovative curriculum combines the best of both Conservatory training and a broad liberal arts education.

Bard Conservatory offers unparalleled musical opportunities for its students. The Conservatory orchestra performs regularly on campus, in New York City, and in semi-annual concert tours to Asia or Europe. Students frequently perform alongside faculty in chamber music concerts at Bard, in regional chamber music concert series, and on concerts for the Bard Music Festival. Concerto competition winners perform twice in subscription concerts with the American Symphony Orchestra. The Bard College Conservatory of Music offers six distinct programs. Undergraduate, Graduate Vocal Arts Program, Graduate Conducting Program, Postgraduate Collaborative Piano Fellowship, Preparatory Division and Conductors Institute.

The reason I am at Bard now is because of its dual degree program. I am now able to get into computer science while continuing my passion of orchestral, chamber, and solo playing. The icing on the cake is the high level of dedication from all the teachers and faculty!

Nice conservatory, great clarinet teachers, demanding orchestra and a second major. What else could you possibly ask for? :D

I am a freshman student studying the violin at Bard Conservatory. Even though the semester has not formally started, I could feel the friendliness of faculty members and current students. ^^
Besides the unparalleled faculty, Bard Conservatory features the BM/BA 5-year dual degree program; which is that all undergraduate students could major in another academic field while pursuing their careers as musicians.
