    Overview

The Queens College School of Arts (SoA) offers renowned programs in theatre, dance, fashion, studio art, design, music, media studies, and creative writing. Located in Queens—NYC's most diverse borough—SoA fosters creative expression, critical thinking, and innovative collaborations, promoting excellence in the arts and inclusive artistic engagement.

Queens College SoA’s strong partnerships with major cultural institutions—including the Kupferberg Center for the Arts, Godwin-Ternbach Museum, and Louis Armstrong House Museum—open doors to internships, mentorships, and professional opportunities in arts administration, exhibitions, and performances. Our School is grounded in the belief that performing and visual art-making and practice processes cannot be separated from their historical and social context. SoA therefore favors an educational approach rooted in anti-racism, social awareness, critical engagement, and creative freedom at the same time that it proactively addresses the need for diversity in arts leadership across disciplines as well as challenges the systematic erasure of BIPOC voices from the processes of art making and production.
