Students study with professors who are internationally acclaimed in their fields; including 25 members of the celebrated Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. In addition, comprehensive musicianship training and performance opportunities in large ensembles and chamber groups are readily available for all music majors, regardless of their degree track. The Mary Pappert School of Music offers a wide variety of degrees at both the Undergraduate and the Graduate level. In addition, Post-baccalaureate Certifications are available in certain disciplines. Undergraduate degrees include: the Bachelor of Music in Performance, the Bachelor of Music in Music Technology, the Bachelor of Science in Music Education, the Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy, and the Bachelor of Music with Elective Studies in Business.

The performance degree track is a four year program in which students have the opportunity to study with master teachers, many of whom are Symphony members, international recording artists and renowned performers. Performance students take applied studies in keyboard, orchestral instruments and voice. No matter your path: Brass, Guitar/Electric Bass, Jazz, Organ, Percussion, Piano, Strings, Voice, or Woodwinds, the Mary Pappert School of Music can prepare you to be a leader in the musical culture of the 21st century.
