    Eastman attracts students who possess a true passion for music and who are looking to chart their own unique paths toward their musical goals. The Eastman School of Music is a comprehensive professional music school that is a part of a top-tier research university.

    Performance is at the core of every major at Eastman. For the Bachelor of Music, every student, regardless of major, must have a primary instrument. For all for years of study, each student will have a weekly 1 hour lesson for their primary instrument with a resident artist faculty member and will perform in a large ensemble. Eastman Ensembles:

    The Bachelor of Music curriculum is designed to provide the comprehensive training that is necessary to succeed in today's music world. All students will complete a five-semester sequence of Music Theory, a four-semester sequence of Music History, 8 semesters of large ensemble performance, 6 semesters of chamber music, 8 semesters of private lesson instruction, piano study, and 1 non-music course each semester. Career development, internships, and the Arts Leadership Program are offered through the Institute for Music Leadership (IML) office. Eastman offers the Bachelor of Music degree with the following majors:

    Eastman is also home to the Sibley Music Library, the largest and most comprehensive academic music library in North America. Its holdings include:

    The best way to discover whether or not a school is a good fit for you is to visit campus.
