    Overview

Manhattan College is an independent Catholic institution that embraces qualified students of all faiths, cultures, & traditions. The mission is to provide a person-centered experience that prepares graduates for lives of personal development, professional success and civic engagement.

Manhattan College is a Lasallian Catholic institution founded on the principles of John Baptist de La Salle, patron saint of teachers. We strive to promote faith, respect, quality education, community and social justice in all that we do. Our campus is in Riverdale, a quiet neighborhood in the Bronx, located 10 miles from the bustling streets of midtown Manhattan. Our students enjoy the best of both worlds a traditional college campus thats just a short subway ride from the endless opportunities available in the countrys biggest and brightest city. Our professors often use NYC as a classroom with field trips to Wall Street, museums and other world-famous locations. We have 3,500 students and a student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1, so our students enjoy the benefits of a small college with close faculty interaction. But with more than 40 majors and 20 graduate programs across six distinct schools, Manhattan College has big academic opportunities. Our students take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to the real world through internships, service-learning projects and study abroad.
