    Overview

Mitchell College is a coeducational, residential college offering associate and bachelor degrees. Its mission is learning engagement within a student-centered community that maximizes each students ability to succeed. Students can choose from 19 majors and programs of study.

Located in the heart of southern New England, at the mouth of the Thames River and entrance to Long Island Sound, Mitchell College is set on 68 acres in a safe residential neighborhood in the city of New London, Connecticut. Once a private estate, the campus is laid out across bluffs that slope to the waters edge, with rolling lawns and wooded walkways, sandy beaches, towering shade trees and indigenous landscaped gardens.

The campus is only five minutes from Interstate 95 and one to two hours from the cultural and entertainment centers of New York, Boston, Providence, and Hartford. Southeastern Connecticuts shoreline is one of our nations major recreation, entertainment, and vacation destinations.

New London is truly a college town – home also to Connecticut College and the United States Coast Guard Academy. Art galleries, shops, and cozy coffee houses blend with other urban amenities. For Mitchell students New London combines the best of all worlds – the friendliness and comfort of a small, coastal New England campus, and the accessibility and excitement of city life.
