    Overview

SUNY Cobleskill is an accredited polytechnic college that is primarily baccalaureate and residential. Modeling experiential education, SUNY Cobleskill is committed to providing small classes, excellent facilities, and a hands-on learning environment.

The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill has a rich academic tradition that spans nearly 100 years. Today, over 2,500 students are enrolled in the 52 associate and baccalaureate degree programs offered through The School of Agriculture and Natural Resources and The School of Business and Liberal Arts & Sciences.

SUNY Cobleskill has consistently been recognized among the Best Regional Colleges in the North by U.S. News and World Report and has been named to President Obama's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for four consecutive years. It was recently recognized as Military Friendly College by G.I. Jobs magazine. A member of the U.S. Green Building Council, the college has also been recognized among the Princeton Review's 286 Greenest Colleges.

The faculty and staff's commitment to meeting student needs is the hallmark of a Cobleskill education. The college offers small classes, excellent facilities, and a hands-on learning environment that features extensive experiential learning opportunities through internships and field experiences. A diverse study-abroad program allows students to travel and take classes in a variety of countries while pursuing a Cobleskill degree. A unique early medical school assurance program allows eligible students to apply for guaranteed admission to Upstate Medical University at the close of their freshman year, without ever having to take the MCATs. Articulation agreements ensure a seamless transfer to colleges within the State University of New York system.

Students live and learn on a modern, 782-acre campus that features outstanding educational facilities, including a contiguous farm with a new equestrian center and 200-cow dairy facility, fish hatchery, specialized classrooms and laboratories, student-run restaurant, nationally accredited child development and child care centers, art gallery, and 10 residence halls. The new Center for Environmental Sciences and Technologies and the $38.7 million Center for Agricultural and Natural Resources, scheduled to open in Fall 2014, symbolize the college's dedication to providing students with state-of-the-art facilities to pursue study and research opportunities in Environmental and Energy Technology, Plant Sciences, Fisheries & Wildlife, and Animal Sciences. The campus is also home to the Cobleskill Campus Child Care Center. The academic experience is complemented by a wide range of opportunities that allow students to challenge themselves inside and outside the classroom. Campus-wide events, more than 50 student clubs, and residence hall councils are just a few examples of leadership positions that exist on campus. Students can also participate in a full array of intramural and intercollegiate athletics—the Fighting Tigers compete at the NCAA Division III level as a member of the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
