    Overview

At UK, you don't just get an engineering education; you get a community. Our faculty wants you to enjoy a successful career in technology, academia or business and will partner with you all the way to graduation. We have been training engineers for over 150 years and are the top-ranked engineering school in Kentucky.

The engineering education our graduates receive prepares them to tackle our world's daunting engineering challenges. Our First-Year Engineering program offers new students the opportunity to take engineering classes right away and even participate in a design project. Our Engineering Residential College living learning program creates the perfect environment by offering tutoring, professional development seminars, social activities and much more. The brand new James and Gay Hardymon Center for Student Success provides tutoring, presentation support, career development, cooperative education and advising services in one centralized, convenient location.

We offer undergraduate majors in biosystems engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering and mining engineering; minors in biomedical engineering and computer science and certificates in aerospace, automotive production engineering, biopharmaceutical engineering, environmental engineering, lean systems, power & energy and surveying.

The majority of our students find full-time employment in an engineering-related field by the time they graduate. Every fall and spring, between 90 and 120 employers come to UK campus to recruit talented engineering students for co-op rotations, internships and full-time employment. Our Engineering Career Development Group experts will help you develop a resume and prepare for interviews with companies interested in hiring UK engineering students.
