Becoming a Designer for the 21st Century: Want to know how top designers come up with ideas? This course takes you through the process they follow. You’ll use the same process to develop a concept and illustrate your own ideas for a fashion line. Learn methods for pattern cutting, draping and assembly. Bring your ideas to life through storytelling, mood boards and video.
Inside the Business of Fashion and Luxury: Everyone knows the glamour of the fashion runway — but what makes it all work? This course takes you behind the scenes. Learn the business side of the industry. Discover the many careers available in fashion aside from design. Understand how brands and trends are created, how sustainable materials spur creativity — and the role of social media influencers. You will even virtually visit a Louis Vuitton workshop. See whether there’s a future for you in fashion.
Build Your Own Fashion Brand: How do you turn your love of fashion into a business? Learn the steps. In this course, you’ll develop a vision, devise a business plan, build awareness of your brand’s identity, delve into the financial side, and gain an understanding of production and delivery. Discover how to create an elevator pitch that makes a convincing case for your brand in seconds. If you wish to nurture both your artistic and your entrepreneurial sides, this course is for you.
Sustainability: The Future of Fashion: Can fashion be both beautiful and sustainable? In this course, you will discover the innovative ways the fashion industry is responding to our ecological crisis. Learn about the life cycles of products, eco-friendly approaches to design, the upsides and downsides of “green” branding, and more. Develop your own vision of a sustainable future for fashion. Whether your interest is in design, marketing, or another field, if you are passionate about the creative opportunities possible at the intersection of fashion and sustainability, this course is for you.
