    Rapidly improve your French language skills in Paris. Combine general and business French language study with entrepreneurial artisanry, art history, and political science. Field trips and hands-on workshops accompany each course for dynamic experiences around the city. Go beyond the tourist track to discover the genuine City of Light!

    The metropolitan city of Paris, France is your classroom at APA. In this immersive, three-month program, French language skills are sharpened as students follow courses taught in French in art history, political science, and Business French.

    APA's on-site support staff are there every step of the way to ensure the best possible stay! Orientation includes an Intensive French Language course to set the foundation for the remainder of the program with plenty of visits to Paris neighborhoods and other cultural activities sprinkled into the calendar.

    The cohort will follow three courses: - Art History: Painting, Sculpture in France in the 19th Century - Explore an exceptional period and conclude with a visit of Monet’s gardens in Giverny. - Political Science: France Today - Instruction and visits - Business French: An Economy of Creation: Discovering the French Savoir-Faire - Steeped in tradition, discover the artisanal fields for which France is recognized. Learn the vocabulary and specific culture surrounding these sectors: Fashion, perfume, leather goods, shoemakers, and tailors; Sustainable and eco-friendly fashion; Cuisine: chocolatier, pastry chef and baker; Wine: from the producer to the winemaker to the sommelier; Design / Art Gallery. Gain general professional vocabulary to be used in a business setting and attend organized visits to workshops, laboratories, or centers for these “Made in France” professions.

    Each week, students receive 90 minutes of individual language support. This one-on-one time is used to work on specific areas of improvement in the French language whether that is oral or written comprehension or expression. Students will take advantage of our carefully-curated cultural package that includes a visit to Versailles, weekend excursion to the Loire Valley as well as monthly activities such as a concert or play. Housing accommodations include choice of homestay and student residence. Since this program is just under 90 days, a French student visa is not required for US passport holders.
