Art is a wonderful way to explore culture, being deeply connected to history, religions, the environment. We prefer a practical approach, that informs our students for the future exploring politics, colonialism, sustainability, religion, Bollywood, economics.
We will actively engage in traditional Indian crafts and practices such as dance, miniature art, cooking, yoga.
While India is a popular destination for adventurous gap year students, many return with only personal experiences and limited understanding of Indian culture and its significance in the modern world. With AHA, you’ll delve into India’s rich history, diverse religions, and stunning landscapes. But you won’t just be an observer; you’ll actively engage in traditional Indian crafts and practices, including beadwork, dance, and cooking.
What We Explore:
Our course seeks to expand your intellectual horizons by examining India through diverse lenses, including art, architecture, sculpture, sustainability, agriculture, flora and fauna, religion, politics, medicine, technology, and Bollywood. We will also delve into themes of nature and sustainability, with a particular focus on water. Highlights include visits to the Earth University in Dehradun and insights from influential thinkers like Vandana Shiva.
