    Overview

    Intern as a language assistant in one of our 40+ partner schools across France. Organize projects, activities, and conversations to support students learning English at the elementary, middle, or high school. Our interns receive a monthly stipend of ~$500/mo, as well as room & board in a local volunteer host family, & up to 12 credits through Portland State University. Linguistic immersion, intercultural connections, & professional experience, where will your adventure lead!?!

    This gap-year (10-month) program is for students interested in a professional intercultural experience in France. Requirements: -Have a strong desire to be immersed in France (no language requirements) - Be willing to defer a year from college or take a course from Portland State University during your internship. - Be motivated & culturally curious YOU WILL: - Assist the English department plan lessons, lead conversation groups, teach, and lead after-school study groups. - Have room and board provided by the host school in on-campus dorm-style housing, in a homestay nearby, or studio. All interns will have a local host family on weekends and during school breaks at a minimum. Some may stay in full-time host families. - Receive a monthly stipend (450euros/month average) provided by the host school. - Be able to travel during school holidays, pursue other activities, or explore your host city! - Earn up to 12 upper-level French credits through Portland State.
