Looking for flexibility in your gap year? The Future Framers Gap Year is designed to give you a combination of adventure travel and life skills while leaving open time for work, volunteering, additional travel, or courses. It's a hybrid, part-time, 9-month program for ages 17-25 to understand your world and make your mark on it. Program themes are 1) Personal and Professional Development, 2) the Changing World (such as climate change and AI), and 3) Action and Self-expression.
The Future Framers Gap Year is a hybrid, part-time, 9-month program for young people ages 17-25 who want to understand their world and make their mark on it. It is designed to support your self-directed gap year experience and leave you with the skills, knowledge, and connections to move powerfully toward your goals. The program consists of two in-person camps with your full program cohort, in fall (Charter Camp) and spring (Capstone Camp). The rest of the sessions are online, twice per week. Participants develop friendships and community within the cohort through weekly group sessions, group projects, and our internal social network.
The curriculum is eclectic, united by the three themes of the program: personal and professional development, the changing world, and action. The variety keeps things fresh and fun. We believe that the deepest learning comes from experience, so there are daily exercises and opportunities to practice.
Our emphases on action, creation, and self-expression means that a portion of each week is focused on writing, making, or doing. In particular, we will be focused on digital media: video, podcasts, social media, illustration, and more.
Program features:
- Hybrid (online and in-person) with two group travel experiences at the start and end of the 9-program.
- Flexible part-time schedule to allow you to work, travel, or take courses. Relevant curriculum that addresses the world context of climate change, AI, culture, social justice, and other variables impacting your future.
- Helping you live your best life with practical life skills (mindfulness, exercise, eating well, financial management) and professional development (resumes, networking, career explorations).
- Taking action! Finding your voice through writing, digital media, art, or other means of expression.
Applicants from around the world are welcome. We have rolling admissions with applications accepted until all spaces in the program are filled.
