    Overview

Fun. Challenging. Impactful. That's how Venturers describe Raleigh Expeditions.

Raleigh International run Expeditions to Costa Rica, Borneo, Kenya, and South Africa. They're life-enhancing journeys full of transformational experiences for young people, empowering and equipping them to create positive change in the world. This aims to equip venturers with new skills whilst creating lasting change for themselves and the communities, as well as the projects they work with.

    Where can I go?

    • Costa Rica
    • South Africa
    • Borneo
    • Kenya

How long can I go for?

Expedition offers a 5, 7 or 10-week program at three different times of the year (Spring, Summer, & Fall).

The 10-week program is the most popular option as it provides you with the most extensive and culturally immersive experience. It is also the only Expedition that includes all three phases.

    Up to Three phases

    1. Community project: On Community Projects Venturers work side-by-side local communities in rural areas on development initiatives that support poverty alleviation and improve access to education. Venturers work with project partners who are embedded in these communities, contributing meaningful action while learning important skills in project management and development. They also engage in cultural exchange session to integrate into the culture of the communities they are working with and create long lasting impact and develop as active global citizens.

    2. Environmental project: Venturers work with local experts on conservation projects that support the protection of local wildlife and biodiversity. While on their project venturers live within nature and learn about the importance of nature conservation, climate change and living sustainably, giving them a grounding in environmental issues from multiple perspectives and sustainability.

    3. Adventure Challenge phase will take you on a journey of personal growth that will continue for the rest of your life.

    Who can go?

One of the things that makes a Raleigh Expedition truly unique, is that you will be with people your age. It is only open to 17-24 year olds.

Our Expeditions are challenging but we are here to support you from when you apply. All you need is an open mind, commitment and a desire to do good!

We are proud to have Venturers from various backgrounds and life stages. Raleigh Expeditions are a safe and inclusive environment where young people can bring their authentic selves on program.
