    Overview

Step back in time with famous explorers David Thompson, Merriwhether Lewis and William Clark!   As SOLE’s interdisciplinary expedition-based program participants develop leadership, academic, and outdoor skills in a transformational manner – during an actual expedition!

    Overview:

GAP Experiences posses a 14 day expedition-based model supported by a dynamic interdisciplinary curriculum allowing a unique opportunity to develop life and outdoor skills that reach beyond the norm.  Specifically, participants are able to develop skills related to expedition-based living and travel while also learning about the environment and history of the landscape that they are traveling within.  As part of this SOLE Experience,  SOLE works with our partners to offer accredited academic coursework and outdoor certifications!  Coupled with our placed-based GAP Experience SM curriculum as the foundation and consistent interaction with their peers, participants are able to accomplish project and expedition goals that provide additional opportunities to practically apply what they are learning, while developing a sound sense of belonging.  All coursework is dependent upon time of year and specific expedition location.

    Curriculum:

By providing clients our individualized and novel approach to program design and facilitation, student outcomes include accelerated academic comprehension, as well as, learning opportunities / activities well beyond the norm!  That is what you can expect from any SOLE Experience SM. With supporting a positive learning expedition mindset participants work in concert to support over arching goals and learning objectives, grounded on the SOLE 4 Care Philosophy SM.  This allows our days to be filled with fun and adventure!

GAP Experiences may require pre and post coursework from SOLE Academy to cement lesson objectives and learning targets, including those concepts taught “in the field” .  This also ensures that students meet standards and course expectations.

Program curriculum delivered in the field is thematic in nature and supporting lessons are tailored to the season and environment that students are living and traveling within. Specific credits offered are listed in your student paperwork.  Please feel free to request more information during your registration and/or consultation.
