    Overview

Franklin Road Academy (FRA) is a coeducational, college-preparatory school, serving qualified students in pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. Founded in 1971, FRA is a caring and supportive community of parents, teachers, and students within an inclusive Christian environment.

FRA's mission is: to instill in our students a lifelong love of learning, emphasizing academic excellence and college preparation; to develop students of integrity with Christian values to sustain and lead them in lives that will make a difference; and to guide students to discover needed balance for life through opportunities in the arts, athletics, and activities.

Students enter our ninth grade from a variety of backgrounds: brand new students looking for the type of upper school experience we offer, students who first joined us in middle school, and even FRA "lifers," who started at PreK. What unites them all is the quick familiarity they fall into-familiarity of faces and places, of friends and teachers. Our relational culture lends an ease and comfort to what can too often be a tenuous transition.

What Franklin Road Academy students learn here in our upper school-about physics and chemistry, European history, classical literature, Renaissance art-they carry with them to college, drawing on that base of knowledge that continues to grow. We offer approximately 20 AP courses, so students can gain the depth and breadth of academic fluency required by the top colleges in the country.

Because we insist upon balance, you'd be hard pressed to find an FRA student who isn't also playing at least one sport, perfecting an art form, mastering a foreign language, volunteering in the community, and reflecting on their spiritual life. Those are the graduates we seek to send out into the world, prepared to fulfill their own unique purpose.
