    Overview

The GISB is a bilingual independent school serving students from age 3 to grade 12.

The most important constant factor in our program remains our dedication to the demands and the possibilities of our students, and the guided development of their best possible potential. To enable the students to steer, to reflect on, and to assume responsibility for their own development is the fundamental credo of our approach.

Essential to this approach is our ongoing investment in the institutional infrastructure of cooperative work, school program development, and a continuously evolving program of pedagogical training for teachers and staff. Highly trained and motivated teachers in a clearly structured program are of the greatest importance to our mission. Our teachers' commitment to students, their expertise in cutting-edge teaching techniques and methods of classroom management, and their steady encouragement of students' ability to work independently in a supportive learning environment all contribute decisively to our students' success.

Students may also volunteer to assist our dynamic After School Program with Preschool through 12th graders at the German International School Boston. Work with faculty and select from a wide range of activities such as, German & English instruction, Music, Tennis, Soccer, Basketball, Martial Arts, Mad Science, Art, Chess, Dance, Drama Club, and Yearbook Graphic Design.
