Kroka Expedition awakens in young people a connection to nature and the spirit within, and a capacity for conscious living and compassionate service through wilderness adventure, community living, farming, and the practice of traditional and indigenous skills.

Students come to truly depend on and support one another as they work, live, and travel together. It is inevitable that ones true nature is exposed through such a lifestyle. Our students ages range from 15-18. This multi-age learning community allows for younger students to be inspired by older team-members, while the older students are asked to rise up and provide modeling and guidance for their entire community. A team of devoted and passionate teachers helps to facilitate this experience. Whenever possible we engage in slow travel, traveling by our own power using traditional modes of transportation. We strive to honor the ways of the past, and to respectfully and responsibly use what our natural world provides. Students take authentic ownership of their experience. They hold real responsibility for work that their whole community depends on. Each student has an essential role and carries a big job (be it food manager or navigator) throughout the expedition. Students take risks and push themselves as they develop confidence and a sense of purpose as individuals. They experience freedom and growth that stays with them for a lifetime.
