    Overview

St. Catherine's, a Church School in the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, offers girls in junior kindergarten through twelfth grade a rigorous college preparatory education through a community of teachers and staff committed to fostering the development of the mind, body and spirit.

St. Catherines strives to provide a respectful, welcoming, nurturing and diverse setting for students, faculty, staff and parents. We seek to create a school community that is supportive of children and families of all backgrounds and life experiences. The School has experienced year-over-year growth in percentage of diversity students. As we move into the future, it remains vital that we all respect the differences of others and embrace what makes each of us an individual. We must prepare our girls to live, work and succeed in an ever-changing, increasingly global world.

While we draw strength from our commonalities as an all-girls school rooted in spirituality, one of the Schools Core Values is Celebrating Individuals. We recognize the unique gifts and potential of each person and help each to recognize that strength often comes from our differences. We believe that differences among people provide a rich and vital context for the effective development of our students. We celebrate and embrace each member of our community and encourage the acceptance of all cultures. We believe that varied perspectives and a wide range of views enliven and stimulate great teaching and learning.
