    Overview

We are a K-12 community connected. The Bush School is 710 engaged and curious students, remarkable, inspired faculty and staff across two campuses in Seattle and the Methow Valley, all united by a common purpose to make a difference in the world at school and throughout life.

Since 1924, The Bush School has inspired students to explore their interests, to engage with their environment, and to aspire to live rewarding and purposeful lives. We continue to honor the legacy of the schools founder, Helen Bush, on campus everyday by fostering an approach to learning based on trust and a belief that sustaining a childs natural curiosity helps to create a lifelong passion for learning. When you walk on our campus, you will notice immediately that our children are engaged with their surroundings, their teachers, their peers, and their own learning.

Although much has changed since 1924, our fundamental approach to teaching students remains steadfast and as relevant now as it was ninety years ago. At Bush, our students solve real-life problems using critical reasoning, creative problem solving, and ethical decision making. As a result of their experiences, they discover that they can make an impact on the world around them and develop a love for learning that is joyful and enduring. As the only K – 12 independent school in Seattle, we have the privilege of watching students grow and develop through their primary and secondary school lives; we are proud to graduate great students and even better people.
