    Overview

Guided by the principles of academic rigor and diversity, the French American International School offers programs of study in French and English to prepare its graduates for a world in which the ability to think critically and to communicate across cultures is of paramount importance.

At the lower and middle school levels, we offer a bilingual immersion program that has withstood the test of time. Young learners benefit from over 50 years of experience, acquiring fluency in French and English, in addition to the cultural savvy that develops from closely interacting with peers and teachers from all over the world.

At our International High School, the academic offerings are without parallel in the Bay Area. By the 11th grade, all students must choose to take either the International Baccalaureate or the French Baccalaureate. Upon graduation every student leaves the school with both a U.S. high school diploma and a Baccalaureate degree, insuring that they will go on to thrive at universities anywhere in the world.

While age-appropriate mastery of French is required for admission through the 8th grade, knowledge of French is not required for admission to our International High School.
