    Overview

Founded in 1744, West Nottingham Academy (WNA) is the oldest boarding school in America. WNA is on a beautiful campus near the Chesapeake Bay.From its founding in 1744, the development of the whole student has been at the center of life at West Nottingham Academy. Academics form the core of our program, but the development of each student’s character is addressed in myriad forms from first arrival on campus to graduation day.

West Nottingham Academy is a diverse, student-centered, boarding and day school for young men and women in grades 9-12 and post-graduate from around the country and across the world.Situated in the rolling countryside of northeastern Maryland, just a few miles from the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay, our beautiful 100-acre campus provides our students a sanctuary for living and learning. Our campus is located within a two to three hour drive to cities like New York, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Baltimore. Around 85 percent of students live on campus, representing 15 different countries and 9 states in the United States. Roughly 15 percent of our student body attend as day students from surrounding counties in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
