We believe that it is important to know a student's present academic functioning level in reading and math. We assess every student's basic skills for grades K 12 using the Basic Assessment Skills Inventory Test (BASI). Results from the standards-based pre-tests are used to develop an Individual Student Plan (ISP) for each child and to guide instruction. The plan includes a timeline for addressing and correcting the student's weaknesses and skill gaps. Standards-based post-tests are used to measure progress. A summary of the results of the BASI and the ISP is shared with parents.
