    Overview

Cal Youth and Outdoor Programs has a Junior High and High School Leadership-to-Work Program that provides kids with an opportunity to learn outstanding leadership skills that can be applied to all aspects of life.

Participants in the Campers in Leadership Training (CILT) and Growing Outdoor Recreation Professionals (GORP) are considered camper/leaders and pay a fee to take part in these programs. Counselors in Training are volunteers, and do not have to pay a fee. Junior Counselors are staff members; there are both volunteer and paid positions at this level. In order to progress through the leadership training levels, individuals must receive recommendations from staff and program supervisors.
