    Overview

For over 50 years, Camp America has offered a nurturing environment filled with fun and excitement, which has kept kids coming back year after year.

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) is a learning and transition program for young people. CIT's, organized into groups of 15 boys or girls, experience the best of two worlds at camp. The counselors for these groups are chosen for their mature, yet youthful outlooks. A CIT day encompasses work experience, bunk activities including lunch and swimming, as well as sport and recreational periods. CIT's work with both specialists and bunks developing leadership and organizational skills. Daily bunk-time activites include co-ed games, group meetings and discussions, swim and water games as well as other recreational opportunities. As the oldest campers, CIT's are rewarded with day trips and after-hours activities supervised by their counselors and the camp directors.
