Perfectly nestled on the shores of Lake Buel. Song and dance, chatter and laughter, the splash of a paddle amidst the sweet smell of pine. At Halfmoon, every single camper is seen and cheered on with individual attention cultivating a strong sense of importance, connection, and belonging.
The essence of this experience enhances a child's self esteem, independence and social values in addition to providing wonderful memories which often last a life time.
Camp Half Moon is proud to offer a diversified program in sports, arts and enrichment areas. We wish to involve the camper in a variety of the many activities offered therefore activities are chosen by the camper on a weekly basis. Younger campers will be scheduled for a daily swim lesson. The Camp's program emphasizes instruction rather than high competition. Campers are given time to practice and are encouraged to recognize all improvements as a measurement of success.
Our campers range in age from 7 to 17, and visit us from all over the United States…and all over the world. Our activities program is as diverse as our campers. Whether they want to explore and develop their skills through sports, the arts, or other areas of personal enrichment, campers will find it here at Camp Half Moon. Kids are allowed to choose and experience as many activities as they want. In addition, a free period at the end of the day gives campers the opportunity to take part in activities just for the fun of it.
Beginning in June and ending in August, we offer a seven week day camp program. Come for one week, or all seven. We believe that learning should be fun, safe and challenging. The values of friendship and respect are always encouraged. Opportunities for self expression are offered through a variety of activities. Leadership roles and inter-camp competitions are offered in variety of activity areas for those campers who wish to participate.
While Kimama Halfmoon’s traditions are based in Israeli cultural Judaism, our camps are open to people of all faiths, cultures, and orientations. Kids are encouraged to ask questions and explore spirituality, and most of all, are expected to respect one another’s religious choices. The camp does not keep shabbat, and our kitchen is 100% Kosher.
