    Overview

Camp Sonshine offers two leadership programs for teens who want to grow and serve their community! The Leader-In-Training (LIT) program is for students in grades 7th to 9th and the Assistant Counselor (AC) program is for students in 10th to 12th grade. Teens get hands-on experience working with kids alongside trained counselors while earning Student Service Learning (SSL) hours or a stipend (for ACs only).

The LIT and AC Programs equip teens with leadership skills they can use now, after graduation, and throughout their lives. Teens will learn important leadership skills, such as:

    • Problem-solving
    • Communication
    • Community Service
    • Responsibility
    • and so much more!

We teach these vital life skills in a safe environment through fun and challenging group leadership sessions, hands-on experience working with kids, and 1:1 mentorship with trained counselors.

LITs and ACs help maintain group control, create a safe environment, assist in activities, and gain leadership skills in the process. This well-renowned program is approved for Student Service Learning hours as required for High School graduation. Teens can receive 35-40 SSL hours per week and use this leadership experience for applications such as the National Honor Society and various colleges.

At Camp Sonshine, we believe in service, growth, and fun! Our LITs and ACs can also attend late stays at places such as SkyZone, Main Event, and more throughout the summer!
