    Overview

Carmel Valley Tennis Camp, in Carmel Valley California, has operated for over 45 years. Our Purpose at Carmel Valley Tennis Camp is to inspire young people to love the game of tennis in a safe and fun traditional camp setting. Our Mission is to be the top, most well-balanced junior tennis program in the country for children ages 10 – 18. We welcome beginning through advanced tournament players to Carmel Valley Tennis Camp to improve their tennis and have fun.

Excellent tennis instruction is combined with daily match play to help every camper excel at CVTC. We own our beautiful 38-acre site, and our home is here; the only people at camp each session are the Owner Director family, the 50 campers and 18 adult staff. We provide wholesome and healthy food that our campers look forward to year after year. Carmel Valley Tennis Campers are supervised at all times by our adult staff. Carmel Valley Tennis Camp is the only tennis camp in California Accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA). The ACA sets professional standards for the Summer Camp Industry, and their Accreditation is the benchmark of excellence.

Our purpose is to encourage young people to love the game of tennis in a wholesome and fun camp setting. Good Sportsmanship is the cornerstone of our program. Tennis is a sport for a lifetime that develops focus, perseverance, and great physical health. Campers become more skilled tennis players and learn a lot about tennis – good sportsmanship, focus and the mental game, strokes, movement, strategy, video analysis, conditioning and match play. Campers get a balance of hitting lots of balls in game-based (live ball) drills in their lessons and match play during team tennis. Campers are encouraged to enjoy competition by striving to be their best.10 tennis groups of 4-6 campers each allow all levels of players to attend CVTC, from beginning players to ranked tournament players. Our staff is composed of college aged counselors, some of whom have been campers at CVTC. Our tennis counselors are playing college tennis and bring a wealth of tennis experience to the camp and selected as great role models. Counselors participate in a 4-day pre-camp training. Campers leave camp motivated to play more tennis.

Sessions are typically one week long for all players, but sessions can be combined into a longer camp experience for an added fee to account for the time in between sessions.
