Centenary University Summer Academy: Finance

The Summer Academy is a high school pre-college program for rising grades 9-12. The program is held as two one-week intensives in July. Courses are taught by Centenary University Professors. 

Each program offers overnight accommodations in air-conditioned residence halls with three meals and evening activities. 

Finance Academy: Saving and Investing for Teens

This course provides a life-based approach to saving, spending, investing, and the overall management of money. It is designed specifically to provide young people with the knowledge and skills to prepare them to navigate today's financial issues. It will consider how a person's life purpose and goals can motivate and inform their financial actions. It is designed not just to enrich students; The course will suggest real-life and practical actions that can improve all aspects of life.

Frank Longo, Assistant Professor of Business, Centenary University

Assistant Professor of Business, teaches Accounting and Finance courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at Centenary University. Prior to being appointed to a full-time position in 2012, he served as an adjunct instructor at Centenary from 2008 to 2012 and was awarded the Adjunct Excellence Award in 2011. In 2018, Frank was awarded Centenary University's Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award.  Prior to his time at Centenary, he served at the Internal Revenue Service, specializing in tax and accounting principles at the Appeals division. Frank is a graduate of Wagner College, where he received a BS in Business Administration with a major in Accounting, and of Pace University, where he received his MBA. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Association of Individual Investors. Frank provides financial advice and commentary to the Centenary community as the creator of a weekly podcast entitled "Dollars & Sense for College Students, which is broadcast on WNTI, Centenary's internet radio station. He also serves as the moderator of Centenary's financial club, Dollars & Sense. He has made numerous presentations on financial issues, including Beginning Investing, Investing during COVID, and Tax Update.
