    Overview

Theatre by its very nature is about bringing people together. We do this through stories that build community, spark curiosity, and foster conversations. Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s Summer Camps offer experiences for students ages 3 to 18 in a fun, interactive environment.Professional Teaching Artists lead campers in acting, singing, and dancing activities.

Early Childhood Camps are for ages 3-5. These 1-week, half-day camps provide a fun experience integrating music, art, and creative play to explore a story. Classrooms are transformed into imaginative worlds for each theme, engaging students on every sensory level.

Primary Camps are for rising K-2nd graders. These 1-week camps provide an imaginative outlet to develop foundational acting skills by rehearsing a story dramatization throughout the week while rotating through drama, dance, music, and art classes.

Performance Camps are for rising 3rd through 6th graders. These 1-week and 2-week camps provide a fun-filled theatre experience. A short audition on the first day places students in appropriate roles. Camps rotate through music, acting, and dance activities daily.

Summer Teen Studios are for rising 7th through 12th graders. These 1-week and 2-week studios offer teens an exciting and challenging experience in either performance or technical theatre training. Students are directed by professional theatre artists in their fields.

Every camp experience culminates with a Sharing or Showcase on the final camp day for family and friends; please plan accordingly as you will not want to miss this exciting event!
