Summer is a great way to get to know us! We look forward to getting to know YOU!
In Introduction to Drawing, we will explore formal and expressive possibilities of drawings with many different approaches and materials. For this summer session class we will have a special focus on landscape and we will spend time outdoors with field trips around campus, to area parks and to the Denver Botanic Gardens. Other sources of imagery we will explore include still life, the figure and interior and exterior architecture. Most of the class time will be spent drawing, but individual and group critiques, slide talks and gallery visits will also be important. Projects will be designed to develop the following: observational skills, increased understanding of formal visual language, technical confidence, personal expression and the capacity to develop new concepts.
