    Overview

Youth Summer Learn to Row is for boys and girls ages 12-18 years who have not rowed before. Learn to Row is an introductory course where kids try the sport of rowing in a fun and safe environment. They will learn rowing terminology, learn to handle equipment and develop a basic set of rowing skills. Find out more!

Participants learn the basics of the sport, starting in the barge to reinforcing basic skills and knowledge of rowing. As the skills develop the rowers graduate into the eight person shells after a few sessions! Rowers take turns in the coxswain seat to help their fellow classmates navigate the river safely.

Once rowers complete the Learn to Row program they can progress onto Skills Development, Crew League, and Novice Competitive Rowing. Each program builds on the skills and experiences of the previous class, resulting in an inclusive learning environment.
