Our Costa Rica Veterinary Experience program is a unique and immersive opportunity designed for high school students to gain confidence and hands-on experience alongside animal care professionals. You'll have the chance to work in a variety of settings, from wildlife rescue centers and private farms to animal clinics. Here, you'll actively participate in equine and livestock medical procedures, including tasks like drawing blood, administering injections, conducting diagnostic tests, and performing physical examinations. This program also offers insights into preventative medicine and animal behavior across different contexts, fostering a comprehensive understanding of veterinary care.

In addition to clinical and field work, you'll have the exceptional opportunity to observe necropsies, assist in spay and neuter surgeries, and collaborate with experts in the field to expand your knowledge of animal anatomy and healthcare. Moreover, you'll contribute to the well-being of rescued wildlife by creating enrichment activities for their rehabilitative habitats. This program doesn't just focus on veterinary skills; it's a holistic experience that combines education with adventure.
