    Overview

Advanced Sailing (ages 13 and up) is is the peak of our Step program before students become Instructors-in-Training. This is our most technically demanding course with students learning to race higher performance dinghies, and throw asymmetrical spinnakers aboard our RS Quests.

Each session of Step 5 lasts three weeks, and students frequently repeat this step for a number of summers before moving on to our Instructor0in-Training program. During this time, they apply the skills mastered in Step 4 and use all of their accumulated sailing knowledge to master new techniques. With crews of only one or two students, Step 5 gives ample opportunity for students to recognize their own abilities as well as to work collaboratively when partnered with a peer. The highlight of Step 4 is sailing to a Boston Harbor Island for an overnight camping trip! Visit our website for more information.
