    Overview

Developed and produced by IIDA, the International Interior Design Association, the Design Your World (DYW) summer program introduces students to the  fundamentals and practice of commercial interior design.

The program is offered in three markets:

    DYW Miami, FL - Monday, June 12 - Friday, July 7 (Monday-Thursday, 9:30am-3:00pm)

    DYW Chicago, IL - Tuesday, July 11-Friday, August 4 (Tuesday-Friday, 9:30am-2:30pm)

DYW St. Louis, MO - Monday, July 10-Friday, July 21 (Daily, 9:00am-3:00pm)

Students will develop a basic understanding of commercial interior design including the history and process of design, sustainability, ergonomics, materials and furnishings through practical learning sessions, hands-on projects, field trips, and industry engagement. DYW will also introduce the business practices of interior design, career specializations, and educational requirements—all supported by visits from designers, manufacturers, and design school representatives and fieldtrips to architectural landmarks, design firms and/or manufacturer showrooms.

A stipend of $400 will be paid to each student who completes the program having met the required attendance threshold. Lunch will be provided each day.
