    Overview

DRBU's Summer Program in Contemplative Philosophy is a unique 2-week residential program for high-school students. Contemplative Philosophy is rooted in the idea that philosophy is not just an intellectual pursuit, but an embodied practice that we engage with in our day to day lives. Through a combination of seminar classes, contemplative exercises, and arts workshops, the summer program gives you the opportunity to not only think about philosophy, but to embody it.

Join us on our beautiful campus in Ukiah, California, nestled between the redwoods and the coast! You will take college-level classes on philosophy and literature with other high-school students invested in asking life's biggest questions. For Summer 2024 will have the opportunity to take seminar classes centered around these topics: What is Reality? What is Truth? What is Freedom? Our distinguished faculty will lead classes centered around these questions, drawing on texts from various philosophical and spiritual traditions from around the world. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in contemplative workshops such as yoga, tai chi, or meditation, take arts classes, and explore the beautiful world of Northern California! This program is for high-school students between 14 and 18 years old. Need-based scholarships are available on a limited basis.
