    Overview

Looking to gain experience in the fashion industry? Not sure where to start? Fashion Week Internships can help. Working with partners in NY, LA, London, Milan, Paris, Madrid, and Shanghai, FWI organises dynamic fashion internships with leading global fashion brands, and fashion-focused businesses.

FWI has relationships with the biggest names in fashion, spanning the four main fields - Design, Production, Marketing/PR, and Buying/Sales. By focusing on developing specific sector skills and experience, our internships increase your value in the workplace.

Whether this is your first internship or you have previous experience, internships are designed to build confidence, experience, and help you prepare for a career in fashion. Program fees cover the organisation of your internship, advice and support finding local accommodation, and access to local team members who provide support, guidance and local care during your experience. In many cases, programs can be tailored to deliver specific objectives, and for students that require college credit, program managers can assist.

Programs start monthly throughout the year, including during the major Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer Fashion Week events. Internships typically last between 1 and 48 weeks, and are available across all of the main industry sectors, connecting motivated candidates with industry businesses that will develop your sector experience.

This past summer has been an amazing experience. My biggest takeaway has been the people I've met. FWI encourages relationship building between students and mentors and this is definitely the programs biggest selling point. I enjoyed lots of exciting day trips, and was able to extend my program, giving me an extra 2 weeks to experience London. My accommodation was located in Notting Hill with access to 2 major tube lines, and you can get your own oystercard to travel everywhere with. In terms of the internship, it was different for everybody. Mine was in branding, but another girl worked with a modelling agency, and two others worked in fashion pr. My biggest takeaway was the experiences made in London and abroad in Europe with the great people I've met. While the program is a lot cheaper than many of the others, you do still have to add in accommodations and flights. Overall, it still cost less than half of the other companies that were offering fashion programs, so for me it was a great choice. I would recommend those who do the program to meet the others in the program, and make the most of the time as it goes by so quickly.

Deciding to do a fashion internship with fashion week internships in New York City has probably been one of the best decisions I could make. My internship placement was a real eye-opener, and it was great to be able to use and apply what I learned at college to the real workplace. I've built solid friendships with people from all over the world that have impacted me in the best ways, and are connections that I will take forward with me for the rest of my life! In addition to the work and cultural experience of spending time in London, something most people don't mention is personal growth. These past 3 months I burst out of my comfort zone, and grew more as a person, becoming bolder and more settled in myself. I've definitely come home as a more rounded confident person, thanks to this experience!

Wow how great to see you guys on Teenlife! ?

Very quick review for the great team that helped me get out to Italy to intern in Milan.

The biggest attraction to start was the chance to experience Italy, then the cost of the program which made it actually achievable, and the third was the freedom to plan my own freetime.

Thank-you thank-you, thank-you for an amazing spring in Europe! Will be sending over some photos. Congratulations on a fun program. x
