    Overview

At Forest Lake, you’re not just going to summer camp- you’re joining our family. Live in cabins, get away from cell phones and TVs, make new best friends, and have the chance to enjoy being a kid in a safe and beautiful setting. We are a “Brother-Sister camp” with separate camps for Boys and Girls which gives our campers the chance to thrive in our unique setting.

Forest Lake is a sleep-away camp located in the Southern Adirondack Mountains of New York, just 3.5 hours from NYC. The brother-sister aspect of camp gives the campers at Forest Lake the best possible experience at camp. During the day, single-gender activities allow the freedom to try new activities without the social pressures many are used to in their routines outside of camp. Our goal is to help our campers grow in confidence and independence while providing them with experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.

Forest Lake Camp offers 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 week sessions for boys and girls ages 8-16. The 2-week option continues to be a popular trial session for new and younger campers and many will then choose to extend on the spot to 4, 5 or even 7 weeks. As space permits we always allow campers to extend a session and the difference in tuition is then charged.

    Leader In Training Program

The Leaders in Training (LIT) Program at Forest Lake Camp is a leadership program specifically designed to not only prepare a camper for being a summer camp counselor, but also a leader in society. The LIT program is a “life” program that helps prepare kids for adulthood, college, and additional responsibility. It is bigger and more deliberately structured than a traditional CIT program. This is an opportunity for our 16-year-old campers.

At the end of the summer we offer a Family Camp offering an opportunity for the whole family (parents included) to enjoy a fun-filled summer camp experience.
