    Overview

With the creation of a new world order after World War II, the United States came to be the indisputable leader of the so-called Free World. However, over the past several years, new forces in global and domestic politics have called into question the role of America in a changing world.

The Washington & the World Academy will take you on an engaging journey where you’ll explore the role of the U.S. in the world and develop a broader perspective of how the changing dynamics may affect American leadership on a global level. Under the leadership of faculty from Georgetown’s renowned Walsh School of Foreign Service, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the U.S. foreign policy process, examine the existing and emerging challenges confronting the U.S., and learn how you can become involved in the field of global affairs.
