My GLA experience has changed everything for me. It is amazing how just three weeks can do that but it is because of those weeks that I am now more focused and ambitious in my normal life today. I originally decided to join GLA so I could learn leadership skills and I could not be more satisfied with the result. Everything they did was to help me come out of my shell. GLA allowed me to push my own limits by putting me in situations where I had the chance to completely embrace the culture surrounding me, which in the end helped me realize all that I can do. GLA also gave me the opportunity to meet the most amazing people. The friends that I met through GLA are some of the nicest and most outgoing people. It has already been a month since my amazing GLA experience and one of the things I am most grateful for overall are my new friends and the memories I got to share with them. The fact that I got to connect with my friends on an adventure as unique and memorable as this is more than I could ever ask for. One of the main priorities for GLA is community service. The community service in Peru was fantastic. It allowed us all to get to know the community and the land around it. Our program mainly worked in the fields and in a local doll making company. The places that we got to see and the things that we got to do were executed perfectly and I probably wouldn't have been able to experience as much as I did if I hadn't been with GLA. They had events planned from beginning to end and I can't think of a single day that was boring or ordinary. I owe my new love of traveling to GLA and I can't thank them enough for all the memories and life changing experiences.
