Lazy W Ranch summer camp is a Christian camp located in San Juan Capistrano, California. Youth find their way closer to God during our weeklong summer camps in July and August.
Adventure Camp, at Lazy W Ranch, is a small-group camping experience, with both the Jr. & Sr. High Adventure Camps limited to no more than 12 campers. This special experience gives campers and their counselors the opportunity to grow an incredibly close-knit Christian community: learning about God, about outdoor living, and adventure recreation in a safe, positive setting. Campers will spend time each day experiencing a different aspect of our theme, "Power Up," and will also adventure in the world around us. Campers will experience hands on practice in Christian community, relationship building and skill development.
Creation Camp- Experience the beauty of God's creation - explore the ecosystem surrounding camp - the interesting and unique chapparal. Campers will engage in a variety of activities to discover about this fascinating region as well as spend time exploring how, as Christians, we are called to Creation care. Additionally, we'll also spend time in some of our favorite traditional camp activities including (but not limited to) campfires, crafts, swimming, playing and having a great time together in a variety of fun night-time activities. This week is designed for those students who are interested in learning more about the natural world we live in and how our faith plays a part in that world.
An additional Jr. High Camp (Grades 6-9) and Sr. High Camp (Grades 9-Graduated Seniors) are also offered.
The facilities at Lazy W Ranch are kept in a rustic style, keeping with the natural surroundings of the camp; our accommodations include single-room cabins as well as lodges with a suite-style floor plan.
For those looking to “rough-it”, we have a private tent camping area with a cook-top, fire-pit, and a shady canopy of live oaks covering space for up to 100 campers. We are proud to provide excellent meal service to our guests and can accommodate for most allergies and special dietary needs.
Our location in the Cleveland National forest provides for beautiful, natural surroundings and some hiking trails that are famous for their picturesque views. The crosses, located at the top of a nearby mountain, provide a favorite spot for reflection and meditation.
