    Overview

    This program will immerse students into the world of animation, learning about the traditional animation principles as well as taking a leap into the future of animation. 

    Applications for summer 2025 open November 15, 2024 and close by March 15, 2025.

    In the first week of the program, participants will delve into the timeless art of traditional animation principles and tools. From understanding the fundamentals of frame-by-frame animation to mastering the art of storytelling through visuals, this foundational week sets the stage for a deep exploration into the roots of animation. Participants will have hands-on experience with classic techniques, learning to breathe life into characters through pencil and paper.

    In the second week, we take a leap into the future of animation with a focus on 2D digital animation using cutting-edge tools like Toon Boom Harmony. Participants will discover the seamless integration of technology and creativity as they navigate the software's advanced features to bring their ideas to life. From character design to scene composition, this week is a dynamic journey into the world of contemporary animation, equipping participants with the skills to produce professional-grade 2D digital animations.
