LSU Medical Student Summer Research Program

Founded in 2003, the Summer Research Internship Program offers an 8-week experience for medical students interested in basic science or clinical research careers. Interns are paired with mentors at research sites like LSUHSC-New Orleans, University Medical Center, and more. They learn lab and clinical techniques, attend seminars on research ethics and professional development, and present their findings at the annual Medical Student Research Symposium in the fall.
