    Overview

Nestled in the Cumberland Valley of south-central Pennsylvania, not far from the Tuscarora Mountains, Mercersburg Academy’s beautiful campus provides the perfect setting for a wide range of opportunities for learning, personal growth, and most importantly, fun. Each summer, participants take part in an array of programs, ranging from an adventure camp series to various enrichment, arts, and sports camps.

Our summer programs utilize all of the resources of our beautiful 300 acres, including seminar-style classrooms, extensive science labs, audio and video production areas, outstanding arts studios, a Maker’s Lab, and a 55,000-volume library. Participants train, run, swim, and play in the state-of-the-art Goldthorpe Athletic Complex, which includes a fitness center, aquatic center, squash center, and basketball courts. Our outdoor athletic spaces include a tennis center, various grass fields, and a synthetic turf field.

An outdoor education center serves as the base for outdoor activities and adventures. The center houses an indoor climbing wall, mountain bike program, camping program, and watersports paddling program. Mercersburg’s proximity to the surrounding area, which includes unique wildlife habitats, tributaries of the Potomac River watershed, and thousands of acres of state and national forests, give us many options for outdoor activities and sports.
