    Overview

    For Rising 8th-12th Grade StudentsA Unique Experience on a College Campus

    Expand Your Mind brings together talented students from across the Twin Cities, the nation, and the world for intensive learning and discovery during two 2-week summer sessions. Located on the beautiful campus of Macalester College, EYM challenges students academically while developing leadership skills, instilling self-confidence, and fostering lifelong friendships among like-minded peers.

    Expand Your Mind Program - "expand your knowledge, challenge your perspective and inspire your future."

    EYM is a two-week summer experience for bright and motivated teenagers who will be in grades 8 through 12 in the fall.  EYM students are rising 8th graders, freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.

    This is your chance to immerse yourself in an intense study of a single course—from acting to chemistry, diplomacy  to math, architecture to creative writing, psychology to engineering.

    Far more than challenging academics, EYM offers:

    • exceptional teachers who are engaging, inspiring and excited to be there;
    • small class sizes and individual attention;
    • lifelong friendships with like-minded students;
    • residential or commuter options;
    • recreational activities and social events between classes;

    EYM is held on the campus of Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Centrally located in the Twin Cities, the campus has a neighborhood feel. From its stages to chemistry labs, rehearsal halls to classrooms, cafeteria to dorm rooms, you will catch a glimpse of what college life will really be like.

    EYM is not just about classes.  Each day there is a mid-day break where we offer a daily variety of recreation activities and special events.  From chess tournaments to ultimate Frisbee, from soccer to beading workshops, all our students find the right fit for their interests and opportunities to meet students from other classes.
