    Overview

Miss Porter's School's summer programs for middle school girls are designed to provide girls entering grades 6 - 9 the opportunity to experience the School's residential community while learning lifelong leadership skills from the leader in girls’ education. Our summer programs give girls the tools they need to be empowered, learn, collaborate, lead, and create innovative solutions to pressing global issues.

Located in the center of Farmington, Connecticut, Porter’s is a college preparatory boarding and day school for girls in grades 9 through 12. Our Summer Programs are designed to provide girls the opportunity to experience Porter's academic, artistic, athletic and residential curriculum and community. Porter's Summer Programs are for girls entering grades six through nine.

We offer a variety of programs for girls and encourage campers to join us for as many weeks as they can! The Sarah Porter Leadership Institute is our three-week flagship program and is perfect for younger, first year campers to lay the foundation for our other summer proramgs.

Our Changemaker's program is for returning campers going into grades 7-9 and builds on the foundation built by the Leadership Institute. This program includes a multi-day, weekend leadership retreat off site, where girls have the opportunity to apply these skills through hands-on challenges and experiences. The program will conclude with a cumulative capstone project, in which girls apply their new skill sets to developing and delivering a workshop for younger girls in the community.

We also offer our academic institutes program for girls in grades 7-9 where girls learn beyond the classroom by conducting field research, interacting with leaders in their respective fields, and developing skills through real world application and hands-on experience. We offer the following institutes:

    • Institute for Global Education
    • Institute for Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship
    • Institute for Scientific Research and Inquiry

Our Enrichment Programs include weekend overnights between sessions for girls who wish to remain on campus, relax, explore the local area on field trips and to live the Porter’s weekend boarding school experience. For International campers we offer the International+ Program, a unique opportunity to arrive at camp early for a dedicated week of cultural immersion and enrichment. During this time, girls can settle in early, tour the local area, and enjoy an exclusive preview of campus life.
